Question by qpr26: How do I download new version of iphone software without having to backup my phone onto my PC?
I am trying to download the new iphone software onto my iPhone but the process requires backing the phone up and as there is limited space on my PC, it wont complete the upgrade. I dont want to delete anything from my PC. So I want to complete the install without backing up the phone. How do I do this? Thanks

So free up more space. You won’t be installing it without a backup.
If you don’t have enough room on your hard drive for the 50MB backup of your crap on your iPhone, you shouldn’t even be able to use your computer at all.

just make sure that itunes isn’t set to sync automatically. then you can hit the “check for updates’ button on the summary tab and it will install the new update without taking up pc space.
