someone told me i needed to install iphone software…for it an itunes to synce…where can i find this software and what is it called.

Is your phone locked or unlocked? Thats the problem if it is unlocked you need to download a special software. But if you have an unlocked iphone and connect it to itunes it may lock the iphone again. But it is locked you can use itunes. Itunes will sync it automatically.
